What we do

In Western Kenya, families are living in intense poverty. Hope exists – Kenya is developing and more and more opportunities are developing each year. However, it seems unattainable to many who have grown up in extreme poverty.

Laurie became friends with the some of the neighbors – especially the children, which she shared wonderful, educational cartoons with and created a small library for. However being fun and a friend didn’t seem enough when she witnessed young kids avoiding school due to hunger and parental apathy.  Laurie and her donors worked hard to help keep these young kids in school, to have food and what they needed to survive.

history

In 2018, Laurie was an American lady living in Kisii, Kenya, working at a Children’s Home. Living in what some would call a slum, she witnessed a different side of life than she could have ever imagined. Severe alcoholism, parental neglect and intense poverty. Families that lived with no electricity, without a proper lock on their door, squeezed into small quarters, simply trying to get through each day.
